• User-generated content: expenses, groups, settlements, notes, participant assignments, and related financial split metadata that you create in the app.
• Receipt and image data: receipt photos and extracted line items when you use AI-powered receipt scanning.
• Device and technical data: app/device identifiers and push notification tokens needed for app operations, reliability, and notifications.
• Subscription and transaction metadata: plan, entitlement, and payment status metadata from our payment provider for Pro features.

2. How We Use Information

• Authenticate users and secure account access.
• Provide core features such as creating expenses, calculating balances, and recording settlements.
• Process receipt images with AI to extract bill items and improve itemized splitting workflows.
• Send service notifications, including expense updates and group activity alerts.
• Provide support, troubleshoot technical issues, and protect the app from abuse.
• Manage subscriptions and premium feature access.

3. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We share data only as necessary to provide the service. Key service providers include:

• Firebase (Google): authentication, database, file storage, cloud functions, and messaging.
• Google Vertex AI: receipt image processing and item extraction.
• Lemon Squeezy: subscription checkout and billing-related metadata.

We do not sell personal information.

4. Data Retention

We retain account and app data while your account remains active or as needed to provide services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may request account or data deletion as described below.

5. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and limit access to authorized systems and providers.

• Request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
• Manage push notification preferences in the app/device settings.

7. Children’s Privacy

JustSplitIt is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. International Processing

Data may be processed on infrastructure operated by our service providers in countries outside your region. We take steps to use providers with established security and privacy practices.
